Physiotherapy First
Non-urgent advice: Strains and sprains, muscle or joint pains or stiffness, back ache, hip or knee pain?
You will be advised to see one of our specialist physiotherapists instead of your GP.
You can now book an appointment directly with 'Physiotherapy First' - a joint initiative between Cheshire and Wirral Partnership (CWP) and the Countess of Chester Hospital Foundation Trust (COCH).

Non-urgent advice: How do I access the service?
The physiotherapy practitioners can provide diagnosis, self-management advice, exercises as well as onward referrals and investigations such as scans, x-rays and blood tests. This specialist service has been introduced to improve access for patients with musculoskeletal symptoms affecting their joints, bones, muscles and soft tissues.
At your appointment the physiotherapist will assess your symptoms and discuss your treatment options. They can answer any questions and help you decide how best to manage your condition. The service also has links to the adult musculoskeletal assessment and management service (AMAMS) to access orthopaedics or rheumatology if required.
Appointments are now being offered at both Farndon and Tattenhall Village Surgeries, Bunbury Medical Practice and Laurel Bank Surgery (Malpas). Please call reception eon 01829 771588 to discuss booking your appointment. The receptionist will need a brief description of your problem to ensure that the appointment is suitable for you.
The aim of these appointments are to save GP apointments for medical conditions, as highly specialised physiotherpists they have a lot of experience in assessing and diagnosing problems with joints, muscles and bones.
