Self-care is about keeping fit and healthy, understanding when you can look after yourself, when a pharmacist can help, and when to get advice from your GP or another health professional.

Non-urgent advice: NHS 111
NHS 111 can help if you think you need medical help right now. You can get help from NHS 111: by using 111 online, in the NHS App or by calling 111.
111 can direct you to the best place to get help if you cannot contact your GP during the day, or when your GP is closed (out-of-hours).
Immediate action required: Call 999
Always call 999 and ask to be put through to the ambulance service if someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.
A 999 call should only be made in a genuine emergency.
