Test Results

Non-urgent advice: Specimens

Specimens must be handed into reception before 12.30pm in order for it to be collected and processed by the pathology laboratory at the local hospital. Suitable containers can be obtained from the receptionist. These must have your name and date of birth on them.

Non-urgent advice: Getting your test results

If your test results show that you need more tests or treatment, we will contact you via phone or SMS.

We do not usually contact patients regarding normal results.

Once a doctor has reviewed your test results, you can get them:

  • in your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App)
  • by phoning us after 2pm

Remember, if you have more than one blood test ordered the results may come back at different times.

Non-urgent advice: View your test results in the NHS App

Did you know you can view test results in the NHS App?

The NHS App is a simple way to see recent test results that have been added to your online GP health record, without having to phone the GP practice.

Download the NHS App or find the same services on the NHS website: www.nhs.uk/nhs-app
